On 27 April, we held an EBC Briefing on Tax Transparency in the Digital Economy<\/strong>, with Mr. Artur Olszewski from the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). His presentation covered two OECD tax transparency initiatives aimed at addressing recent developments in the digital economy.
\nThe first initiative, the Model Reporting Rules for Digital Platforms<\/strong>, was developed in response to the rapid growth of the sharing and gig economy and requires digital platforms to collect and report to tax administration information on income realised by platform sellers. The second part of the presentation focused on crypto assets, and more precisely on the ongoing work of the OECD on the Crypto-Asset Reporting Framework<\/strong> (CARF), which provides for the reporting and exchange of tax information on transactions in Crypto-Assets.
