The<\/strong> EBC Meets with Chiba Prefecture on Investment and Innovation<\/strong><\/p>\n

On 19 February<\/strong>, the EBC had the pleasure of hosting representatives from Chiba Prefecture for an insightful discussion on fostering foreign investment and business growth. Chiba Prefecture showcased its dynamic initiatives, including the expansion of\u00a0Narita Airport<\/strong>, which aims to enhance both infrastructure and regional connectivity, creating new business opportunities. Additionally, the prefecture is emerging as a hub for\u00a0cancer research<\/strong>, with a growing cluster that includes the\u00a0University of Tokyo\u00a0and leading private companies driving innovation in the field.

JETRO Invest Japan Networking Event<\/strong><\/p>\n

On 20 February<\/strong>, the EBC had the pleasure of attending this event, which opened with a welcoming speech by\u00a0Norihiko Ishiguro, Chairman of JETRO, followed by keynote addresses from\u00a0Masaki Ogushi, State Minister for METI,\u00a0Takakazu Seto, State Minister for the Cabinet Office, and\u00a0Julia Longbottom, UK Ambassador to Japan. A panel discussion featured a diverse group of participants, including both small and large companies, as well as domestic and foreign investors. Siemens Healthineers, an EBC member, took part in the discussion, sharing insights on Japan\u2019s investment environment and the available support for potential investors<\/strong>. The event concluded with an\u00a0informal networking reception, providing attendees with the opportunity to connect and exchange ideas.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Mie Prefecture Seminar for Foreign Companies<\/strong><\/p>\n

On 21 February<\/strong>, the EBC participated in an investment promotion seminar hosted by Mie Prefecture. Governor Katsuyuki Ichime provided an overview of Mie\u2019s economy, emphasizing its status as a premier manufacturing hub and its commitment to supporting foreign investment through government incentives<\/strong>. Seiichiro Inoue, Deputy Director-General for Policy Coordination at METI, outlined Japan\u2019s broader economic strategies, highlighting Mie\u2019s strategic location, skilled workforce, and advanced infrastructure<\/strong> as key advantages for foreign enterprises.
\nFollowing the presentations, attendees had the opportunity to network over a complimentary buffet featuring renowned local delicacies. Lithuania National Day Celebration<\/strong><\/p>\n

On\u00a025 February<\/strong>, the\u00a0EBC<\/strong>\u00a0had the honor of attending the\u00a0National Day Reception of the Republic of Lithuania<\/strong>, marking the\u00a0107th anniversary<\/strong>\u00a0of the restoration of the Lithuanian state and the\u00a035th anniversary<\/strong>\u00a0of its reestablished independence. This year\u2019s celebration also paid tribute to the\u00a0Year of Artist Mikalojus Konstantinas \u010ciurlionis<\/strong>, a renowned Lithuanian composer and painter.
\nThe event featured inspiring speeches by distinguished guests, including the\u00a0EU Ambassador<\/strong>, the\u00a0Ambassador of Lithuania<\/strong>, the\u00a0Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan<\/strong>, and the\u00a0Parliamentary Vice-Minister of Defense<\/strong>. Following the formal addresses, the\u00a0Embassy of Lithuania in Japan<\/strong>\u00a0hosted an awards ceremony, recognizing notable contributions to Lithuania-Japan relations.
\nGuests were then treated to a captivating performance by the\u00a0\u010ciurlionis Quartet<\/strong>, celebrating Lithuania\u2019s rich cultural heritage. EBC Automotive Components Committee event, 18 March<\/strong><\/p>\n

The EBC Automotive Components Committee, in collaboration with AHK Japan, is hosting a session titled “Accelerate Sustainability: Harnessing Reusable Materials and Digital Innovation to Shift Gears Toward a Carbon-Neutral Future.”<\/strong> This event will take place on18 March 2025, from 16:45 to 19:30 at SAP Japan Co., Ltd., Mitsui Bussan Building, Tokyo. The session aims to explore strategies for advancing sustainability in the automotive sector, focusing on the integration of reusable materials and digital innovations to achieve carbon neutrality.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The event is open to AHK Japan and EBC members with a participation fee of 6,600 JPY, and for non-members: 8,800 JPY. Registrations are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis (deadline:10 March). Following the session, attendees are invited to a buffet dinner, providing an opportunity for networking and further discussion on sustainable practices in the automotive industry.
