EBC meets METI\u2019s new Europe Division Director<\/strong><\/p>\n

On 3 October, EBC President Laurent Depus and Chief Policy Director Bjorn Kongstad met with Mr. Toshiyuki Shirai, the newly appointed Director of the Europe Division at METI. The meeting provided an excellent opportunity to introduce the EBC\u2019s work and priorities, and to explore ways to further strengthen EU-Japan collaboration, notably through the Competitiveness Alliance.
\nWith several MoUs already in place, both sides expressed optimism about future innovation and growth. The EBC warmly thanks Mr. Shirai for the constructive exchange and looks forward to deepening cooperation with METI.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

EBC at the Austrian Strategic Business Summit (ASBS)<\/strong><\/p>\n

Also on 3 October, the EBC participated in the Austrian Strategic Business Summit in Tokyo<\/a>, focused on the Indo-Pacific region. The event gathered leaders and experts to discuss geopolitical transitions, supply chains, and digital innovation.
\nFor the EBC, it was an opportunity to connect with stakeholders from Austria, Japan, and beyond, and to explore concrete avenues for cooperation between European and Indo-Pacific firms.

JETRO \u201cCollaborate & Invest Japan\u201d Networking Event<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) will host its\u00a0<\/span>2025 \u201cCollaborate & Invest Japan\u201d Networking Event\u00a0<\/span>on\u00a0<\/span>Wednesday, 5 November from\u00a0<\/span>17:00 to 19:30\u00a0<\/span>at\u00a0<\/span>Prominence, ANA InterContinental Tokyo.<\/p>\n

This annual event brings together\u00a0<\/span>foreign-affiliated companies,\u00a0<\/span>Japanese firms interested in collaboration,\u00a0<\/span>innovation ecosystem stakeholders, and\u00a0<\/span>diplomatic and economic organizations\u00a0<\/span>to foster meaningful connections and new business opportunities across regions and industries.<\/p>\n

The program will include a\u00a0<\/span>seminar\u00a0<\/span>followed by a\u00a0<\/span>networking session, conducted in\u00a0<\/span>Japanese and English. Participation is\u00a0<\/span>free of charge, but advance\u00a0<\/span>registration is required by 17:00 (JST) on Friday, 24 October. Please note that\u00a0<\/span>capacity is limited to 300 participants, and registration will close once full.<\/p>\n
