As the year draws to a close, the EBC continues to engage with key institutional and business stakeholders to promote open dialogue and strengthen economic ties between Europe and Japan. EBC Participates in High-Level Discussion on Energy with DG TRADE<\/strong><\/p>\n

On\u00a015 December, the EBC took part in a meeting with\u00a0Denis Redonnet, Deputy Director-General for Trade, hosted at the\u00a0EU Delegation in Tokyo. The EBC was represented by\u00a0Jean-Fran\u00e7ois R\u00c9BEILL\u00c9, Chair of the\u00a0EBC Energy Committee.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The discussion focused on energy issues, with particular attention to\u00a0offshore wind development in Japan, including the\u00a0auction process, the\u00a0regulatory framework, and\u00a0supply chain challenges. The exchange also brought together\u00a0European industry leaders\u00a0actively involved in energy projects in Japan, offering valuable on-the-ground perspectives.

EBC Engages with the Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry in France<\/strong><\/p>\n

On\u00a015 and 17 December, the EBC met with\u00a0Kiyohiko Hayami, President of the Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry in France and President of Itochu France, as well as\u00a0Hirotaka Yamada, Secretary-General of the Chamber.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The discussions focused on\u00a0Japanese investment in France, examining both the opportunities available and the remaining structural and regulatory challenges. These exchanges contributed to a shared understanding of how to further encourage investment and create a more open and dynamic business environment for Japanese and European companies alike.<\/p>\n

Representing European businesses operating in Japan, the EBC remains committed to promoting a\u00a0level playing field\u00a0and fostering a\u00a0fair, transparent, and sustainable business climate.
