Management

The European Business Council (EBC) is supported by a Secretariat headed by the EBC Chief Operating Officer. The EBC Secretariat coordinates the EBC activities and acts as a resource for the EBC Committees.

This includes:

  • Acting as the first point of contact for other business organisations, the mass media, and government
  • Coordinating the EBC’s public policy programme in cooperation with EBC stakeholders and relevant committees
  • Liaising with European government representatives, including the European Commission through the Delegation of the European Union to Japan
  • Producing EBC reports and policy proposals
  • Coordinating EBC submissions to forums such as the EU-Japan Business Dialogue Roundtable, the EU-Japan Summit, and the EU-Japan bilateral deregulation dialogue
  • Promoting European business and the EBC through presentations, seminars and the media
  • Liaising with the European National Chambers of Commerce in Japan and coordinating the activities of the EBC Council and Board of Directors
