As you know, the main mission of the EBC is to advocate and to lobby for EBC members and for our stakeholders, the European National Chambers of Commerce in Japan.
Recently, the EBC worked hard (and continues!) to successfully advocate against the (re-)entry ban to Japan for non-Japanese nationals, which affected both people and companies. Our 23 Committees are devoted to improving the business environment for European companies in Japan. The EBC Committees highlight issues and make practical recommendations for how these problems should be resolved.
A webinar organized by the International Chamber of Commerce about arbitration in Japan. The webinar will be in Japanese, but it may be interesting to some of you
We wish you a good reading and hope you stay positive and healthy during this difficult time.
EBC Chief Operating Officer
EBC Sustainability and Social Responsibility Committee
On 20 October, the EBC Sustainability and Social Responsibility Committee had the pleasure of having Donald Eubank and Trista Bridges present their book “Leading Sustainability – the path to sustainable business and how the SDGs changed everything” and its findings.
One of the main messages from the presentation was that sustainability does not have to sacrifice profitability. Quite the opposite, as not implementing a sustainability action plan might very well turn out to be more costly, both in turns that it may have to do at one point in time, and that buyers of the company’s products or services might turn elsewhere due to the lack of said strategy. At the same time, many efficiencies can be achieved by implementing a sustainability policy.
You will find the presentation HERE, courtesy of Trista and Donald.
