September 14, 2023 The EBC management met Mr. Jens Eskelund, the new President of the European Chamber in China
On 7 September, the EBC management met Mr. Jens Eskelund, the new President of the European Chamber in China.
The Chamber has more than 1,700 members in 7 chapters operating in 9 cities: Beijing, Nanjing, Shanghai, Shenyang, South China (Guangzhou and Shenzhen), Southwest China (Chengdu, Chongqing) and Tianjin. It is recognised by the European Commission and the Chinese Authorities as the official voice of European business in China, and it is part of the growing network of European Business Organisations (EBO), connecting European business associations and chambers of commerce located in 51 third markets around the world, and which the EBC is a part of.
Uncertainties in China’s policy environment and rising geopolitical tensions, as well as the persistence of long-standing market access barriers are currently affecting European companies. They have started reviewing their investment and operational strategies, and ensuring their supply chains are fit for more uncertain conditions.

The EBC is planning to organise an event with Mr. Eskelund during his next visit to Japan in 2024.
