Since February 2019, trade and cooperation between Japan and the EU have been boosted thanks to the EU-Japan Economic Partnership Agreement.

In April, two events in the ICT and Agri-Food sectors will be organised by the European Commission:

• On 15 and 16 April 2021, the 11th EU-Japan ICT Strategies Workshop will cover the following topics: 5G and Beyond; Cyber Security; Smart Cities, Platforms; Data; Artificial Intelligence.
• On 19 and 20 April 2021, a webinar on “How the EU ensures the high quality and safety standards of its agri-food products” will present practical approaches towards quality and safety standards, including food and farming policy, labelling, controls, geographical indications, as well as opportunities to foster EU-Japan agri-food trade.

Foreign companies interested in the Japanese market will certainly learn from a webinar organised by the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the Japanese Government Procurement Procedures and about the expected procurements for Fiscal Year 2021.
