Yesterday, the EBC Sustainability and the EBC Energy Committees held a conference for their members on G7 energy progress under Japan’s Presidency – implications for energy diplomacy and policies with Yoko Mulholland, Senior Associate at E3G, a UK-headquartered international climate think tank, focusing on the transition away from fossil fuels. These 2 committees are very active on monitoring the market and on discussing and acting regarding domestic regulatory issues. If you would like to join, please contact the EBC.

Registrations for the 19th North America-Europe Golf Challenge in Japan 2023 are still open (Friday, 6 October, Atsugi Kokusai C.C. in Kanagawa Prefecture). This event is jointly organised by EBC, ACCJ and CCCJ, a perfect opportunity for an interesting business networking. The Osaka Prefectural Government is providina subsidy program for foreign financial companies that covers up to 1.1 million yen to establish a new business location in Osaka City. Eligible financial companies are companies engaging in the following businesses that are deemed appropriate by the governor of Osaka Prefecture:
(1) Businesses related to FinTech (businesses that provide innovative financial services that make full use of ITtechnologies such as AI and blockchain); (2) Investment management business; (3) Investment advisory and agency business; (4) Other businesses related to asset management
